Ireland’s First Shipping Container Home by Ceardean Architects. In this video, we bring you Bayfield container home: The first shipping containers Home in Ireland, which was completed in just three days. This amazing home was Ireland’s first shipping container home, as part of the Ripple Container Homes Project. This project was an initiative of Ireland-based architecture firm Ceardean Architects, in collaboration with several partners and groups. Over 60 suppliers donated materials and labor to build this home, and it was completed in just three days. The home was donated to charity and used as housing for the homeless. The internal spatial arrangement of the container was designed to provide accommodation for a family of 3-4 people. About half of the container home is taken up by a living room and a fully functional kitchen. A wood burning stove installed along one wall next to the kitchen is used to keep the home warm in cold weather. A full bathroom with shower, toilet wash hand basin and a big mirror is located next to the kitchen, and is adjacent to the bedroom, which is spacious enough for a bunk bed and a wardrobe. The home also has a spacious deck on the front of the house, and is fitted with a 30-foot wide glazed opening, which lets in plenty of natural daylight.
