Turkey Hunting in the Black Hills of South Dakota is something I look forward to every year and the 2022 Turkey Season started with an epic public land Merriams Turkey hunt!

We spotted this Merriam Turkey strutting on some private and called him in over 500 yards onto some public land. Cutting on my diaphragm as loud as possible, he was barely able to hear me through all the wind. Once he heard me he came on a rope! He closed the last 200 yards extremely fast and as soon as he saw the strutter decoy it was game over. This Tom strutted and gobbled his way into 20 yards and Josh from SoDak Adventures made a great shot.

We have three more Turkey tags to fill here in the Black Hills before we move the Turkey Tour onto the Praire region of South Dakota to chase Rio's and we still have Kansas and Wisconsin so make sure you subscribe and follow along!
