Nabanna Abhiyan Protest | ‘Things could have been worse’: WB Police furious over alleged hooliganism

Additional Commissioner of Police Supratim Sarkar during a Press Conference on August 27, said that the situation would have been much worse if the authorities had not made the preventive arrests based on specific intelligence. During the address, he said that the situation in Kolkata was not good but it could have been worse.“As I was mentioning, had we not made those preventive arrests yesterday based on specific intelligence inputs that we had shared in yesterday’s press conference then the situation today could have been much worse, putting the lives of common people in great danger we could have prevented that. Today things were bad but things could have been much worse,” said ACP Supratim Sarkar.
In a violent turn of events, Kolkata police detained protesters during Nabanna Abhijan Rally after protests intensified and barricades were broken. Protestors are in rage against CM Mamata and TMC Government considering her ‘failure’ and ‘scared’.
