Three types of spider mites commonly infest houseplants:

1. Tetranychus urticae (spider mite/two-spotted spider mite)
2. Tenuipalpidae (false spider mite)
3. Tarsonemidae (thread-footed mites or white mites known as toppskottskvalster in Swedish)

Many people do not know about white mites, how to identify an infestation, or the problems they cause to Hoyas.
