The awesome Forest Cobra (Naja subfulva)

This is a capture, exhibit and release of one of the most iconic snakes on the African continent. This video was originally made in 2017. At that time the genus and species of this snake was still termed "Naja melanoleuca". Subsequent to this, it was accepted amongst the herpetological fraternity that there actually 5 distinct Forest Cobra species across Africa and the video specimen is known as the Brown Forest Cobra (Naja subfulva). It occurs in the miombo woodland and gallery forests of Zambia and its range (confined to forested areas) extends east and south all the way to the east coast of South Africa.
