The ‘base’ for the marzipan challah is Adeena Sussman’s ‘golden challah’ from her cookbook ‘Shabbat’. Rabbi Esther put her own European twist by filling the challah with almond paste for a very sweet New Year.

The apple honey cake is worth every effort in peeling, coring and shredding apples and the recipe was created by Tori Avey.
