With Rafalko the groundwork has always been harder for him to maintain balance compared to riding. But we work on it! Tracking larger circles at the walk on the long reins begins weaning Rafalko off the support of the rider without reducing the support so much that he goes back into old habits. With each practice session Rafalko is gaining more self carriage by working on the long reins,, even if it takes him awhile to get good at it.
