To commemorate the Holy Year of Mercy, the Original Image of Divine Mercy was removed from the Shrine and processed throughout the streets of Vilnius - an event not likely to happen again in our lifetimes. An estimated 10,000 people filled the streets. Filmmakers of the documentary, The Original Image of Divine Mercy, sent a small crew to document the transfer of the painting. The team was granted exclusive access to film and photograph the movements of priceless work of art which happened over the course of three days. A narrated short film about how the image was moved, with footage showing rare unobstructed views of the painting during the transfer, will be included as one of several Special Features on the DVD version of the documentary (release date set for November of 2016).
