Learning to ride an Electric Unicycle (EUC)

This is my personal journey to learning my EUC. It took longer than most, and at times I wondered if I would make it. However, hard work and determination always pays off, and now I easily ride the 12 km to work and back again.
The things that slowed down my learning are:
1 - Spent too much time next to a wall. Your balance learns to depend on reaching out to the wall, and when it's not there, you just turn and have to abort.
2 - Too small a space. Using the parking garage and the driveway in front of our place, did not give enough room to learn. As soon as you lost your direction, you had to abort so you would not hit a wall or car. As soon as I moved to our small parking lot, skills improved quickly.
3 - Too short a time. Most of my practice sessions were 30 to 45 minutes, and only once or twice a week. Took me the first 15 minutes just to remember what I was doing before. So set aside an afternoon and go for it!
