Tonight's featured pattern is the legendary "Master Splinter," designed by the talented Joe Surelly. 🐭✨ Inspired by the iconic Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, this fly is as cool and effective as its namesake. Using the Moonlit Premium Toot ML 401 hook in size 4, we'll craft this masterpiece step by step.

To start, we'll lay the foundation with Seer Fly's Classic Wax Black thread, building a smooth underbody for optimal buoyancy. Next, we'll add the distinctive tail using prepped 2mm Pine Squirrel in Black, ensuring it's secured with Locktite Super Glue for durability.
Then comes the fun part – crafting the body and silhouette of our Master Splinter. Using 2mm Zero Gravity Foam in Black, we'll create a sleek, buoyant body that mimics the profile of a mouse, perfect for enticing those elusive trout.

With meticulous wraps and attention to detail, we'll palmer the Pine Squirrel hide, creating a lifelike texture that fish won't be able to resist. Finally, we'll add the finishing touches, trimming the foam to create ear-like profiles and securing everything in place with a whip finish.
The result? A stunning fly that's not only effective on the water but also a nod to nostalgic pop culture. So grab your vise and materials, and let's tie up some Master Splinters together!
