On his solo album HH, Lionel Loueke honors an absolute jazz legend, Herbie Hancock. For over fifteen years, guitar virtuoso Loueke has been playing in the band of the great American pianist and composer. With his unique picking style and vocalizations, he interprets the timeless melodies of his mentor, including classics such as Cantaloupe Island, Maiden Voyage en Rockit.

Since he started playing guitar at seventeen, Lionel Loueke underwent a stunning development, from playing to cassette tapes in his native Cotonou, Benin, to performing for president Obama at the White House. Alongside legends such as Herbie Hancock and Chick Corea, he has collaborated with the greatest talents of his generation, including Esperanza Spalding and Robert Glasper.
