"Belle of Lexington" - Tall Poppy String Band

Tall Poppy String Band visited Louisville to play a concert at 21c and perform for an eager group of elementary school kids. They are playing Emmett Lundy's "Belle of Lexington" before the 3rd graders arrive.

Louisville Folk School is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization with a mission to engage Kentuckians' folk music traditions through education and performance. It builds on the rich cultural history of the bluegrass state while creating community through the arts.

Our classes meet in the heart of the Clifton Neighborhood - 225 N Clifton Ave, Suite 4, Louisville, Ky 40206. Most of our classes are scheduled for 8-week sessions in small groups, costing $180 per session. LFS members receive a 10% discount on classes and workshops.
The curriculum is designed to encourage each student to master the skills taught at each individual class level. Folk School instructors will help guide their students on which next class would be best for them. Students are encouraged to stay in a class until their skill level is appropriate for the next class level. It can be beneficial to take a particular class more than once to ensure a solid foundation before moving on to the next level
