Patrick Versace (MD) Talks EDOF Intraocular Lenses

Описание к видео Patrick Versace (MD) Talks EDOF Intraocular Lenses

In a webinar hosted by Patrick Versace (MD, Australia) the highly renowned surgeon talks about modern EDOF (extended depth of focus) intraocular lenses, like LENTIS Comfort & FEMTIS Comfort.

Over the past decade, we have seen a rise in the popularity of selecting multifocal IOLs for cataract surgery. However, in particular, conventional MIOLs associated with rotationally symmetric diffractive optical systems are associated with side effects such as reduced contrast sensitivity, increased optical aberrations, halos, glare, and negative dysphotopsias. In some cases, patients and surgeons alike feel so disheartened by these incidents that they opt for so called EDOF lenses instead of multifocal ones.

The presentation highlights currently available technologies and shows that patients can greatly benefit from these modern EDOF IOLs, like LENTIS Comfort or FEMTIS Comfort, as these lenses almost guarantee an extended field of vision without photic phenomena.

The webinar went live on 14th April 2020. This is a raw recording of the presentation.
