This is JUST AN EXPERIMENTATION in the spirit of the "electric lap piano", That I've done with the tune My Funny Valentine. Today I watched Niels Pedersen's youtube videos and I thought how great would be to play with him, and then I started to think about my heroes and thought how great would be playing with them :Bill Evans, Joe Diorio, Mick Goodrick, Jim Hall, Ted Greene, Lenny Breau, Ed Bickert etc. My funny came to mind, there are a lot of "definitive" versions of this song: Miles', Joe Diorio and Mick Goodrick's, Jim Hall's,Lenny's, Keith Jarrett's,Paul Desmond's with Jim Hall and with Ed bickert, John Abercrombie and Goodrick's, Johnny Smith and Stan Getz´s.What can be done with My Funny?????, well if I'd had to play with one of those guys I'd better come up with something with significance...The intro comes directly from Goodrick's ground breaking book on Guitar Voice leading called Almanac of Guitar Voice Leading and the final part is a Ted Greene like approach to "classical harmony". Hoje eu assisti aos vídeos do youtube do Niels Pedersen e pensei que seria ótimo brincar com ele, e então comecei a pensar sobre os meus heróis e pensei como seria tocar com eles: Bill Evans, Chet Baker,Joe Diorio, Mick Goodrick, Jim Hall, Ted Greene, Lenny Breau, Ed Bickert etc. My Funny veio a mente, há muitas versões "definitivas" desta canção: Miles, Joe Diorio e Mick Goodrick, Jim Hall, Lenny, Chet, Keith Jarrett, Paul Desmond com Jim Hall e com Ed bickert, John Abercrombie e Goodrick's, Johnny Smith e Stan Getz's.O que pode ser feito com My Funny Valentine ?????, bem, se eu tivesse que tocar com um desses caras era melhor aparecer com algo que tivesse grande sentido.. A introdução vem diretamente do livro do Goodrick chamado Almanac of Guitar Voice Leading e a parte final vem do Ted Greene e sua maneira de abordar "harmonia clássica". Tinha algumas partes que poderiam ser consertadas mas minha esposa disse que estava bom, e tínhamos de sair para almoço, portanto, qualquer reclamação deve ser direcionada à ela.
