Jordan Burroughs on feeling empty and unhappy after wining Olympic Gold

Jordan Burrow is giving a talk at San Clemente High School on 10 November 2024.

“We talk about winning the Olympics in 2012 and the whirlwind of media attention and events that followed. However, I felt an emptiness afterwards, despite achieving the pinnacle of success in wrestling. It was at an FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes) camp that I had a moment of experiencing the passion and fulfillment that others found in their faith in Jesus. This led me to find purpose and meaning beyond just my athletic accomplishments, rooted in both the lessons of wrestling and my faith. I encourage everyone to pursue their craft with dedication, surround themselves with the right people, and express gratitude to their parents, coaches, and training partners.”
