AT - St. Anton am Arlberg - Rendl Talabfahrt

St.Anton am Arlberg, March 11th, 2014. The "Rendl" used to be a skiing area off the beaten track, equipped with an old fashioned gondola and barely frequented troughout the day. This changed radically when in 2009 gondola and mountain restaurant were completely rebuilt from scratch. The course of the ski run down to the valley was also altered since the base station was shifted some hundreds of meters towards the town centre and closer to the Galzigbahn cable car. The valley run remains one of my favourites in St. Anton. Since the snow is less exposed to the sunlight, compared to Gampen or Galzig, it tends to stay an enjoyable ride even in the afternoon. A thing I've always liked about the Rendl is the fast transportation back to the starting point.
