Train Cab Ride NL / HSL / Rotterdam - Eindhoven - Rotterdam / TRAXX Intercity / Aug 2019

4K cab ride on the intercity service between Rotterdam Central Station and Eindhoven. In this video we take the full tour to Eindhoven and back to Rotterdam where we started this journey. This train journey will take us from Rotterdam over the HSL to Breda and from that point on we drive on the conventional tracks via Tilburg and Boxtel to Eindhoven. A very nice and relaxing trip. Not much to tell so far, just watch and enjoy.

As soon as we arrive in Eindhoven we need to take the train to a shunting tracks to change the trains direction. From the platform to the shunting tracks the local speed is 30km/h. On the track itself it's a maximum of 10km/h because of our train cleaners working on those tracks.

On our way back to Rotterdam we'll get a little delayed because of an extra freight trains that is passing us just before Tilburg. Many freight trains are detoured these days because the normal line they're running on is closed for a few weeks. As soon as I saw the train passing by I knew it meant we would get delayed.

Because the freight train isn't running on a high speed we are right on its tail very quickly after departure from Tilburg. From that moment on we have to wait until the train has cleared our path. And that doesn't happen until Breda.

As soon as our path is cleared I can see the green light signal just before Breda and we may speed up to 80km/h at that point. This wins us a little bit of time. If we couldn't speed up the train our delay would've been at least 6 minutes at arrival in Breda.

At the platform our passengers get off board and new passengers board the train. The train managers divide their tasks in the main time. We depart with a five minute delay and win some time on our way to Rotterdam. At arrival on our final stop another driver takes over the train an runs it to The Hague Central Station.
