E39: Over 100 year old handmade incense stick business in Devaraja Market Mysuru

Hello and welcome to my channel 👋

In this video we are exploring Mysuru also known as Mysore. We visited the Mysore palace and headed straight to the Devaraja Market. There we met an incredible young man name Sahaib.

Sahaib has been running his family's organic incense stick business for several years, following in the footsteps of his grandfather, uncle and cousin.

We were shown around the shop and explained the process of how his incense sticks are made from all-natural ingredients, including honey, flowers, herbs, and spices.

Sahaib proudly told us about how his grandfather had started the business over 100 years ago and how it had been passed down from generation to generation. He spoke about the hard work and dedication it took to keep the business thriving, but also how he felt honoured to carry on the family tradition.

We were truly inspired by the story of the Sahaib we purchased some of the incense sticks to take home as a souvenir. Thanked Sahaib for the experience and promised to spread the word about his unique shop to others.

When we left the market, we couldn't help but feel grateful for the chance to encounter Sahaib. It was a reminder of the importance of preserving tradition and the impact a single person could have on keeping cultural heritage alive.
