Float In The Maya Canals of Muyil, Sian Ka'an, A Perfect Day Trip, Quintana Roo Mexico

In this weeks video we visit Muyil, in the beautiful Sian Ka'an biosphere. We start the day floating in the canal which is an ancient Maya trade route dating back some 1500 years. Prior to floating down the natural canal we take a boat down the man made Maya canal a waterway carved out by hand by the Maya people centuries ago to connect the Lagoon's and facilitate trading with other Indigenous peoples who travelled from as far away as Belize and Guatemala. After lunch we explore the Maya ruins of Muyil under the expert guidance of a local Maya guide called Eddy whom we are grateful to for his vast knowledge of the area and explaining the structure in detail. This is an exciting and relaxing day trip for anyone in the Riviera Maya and is close to Tulum.
