Some people try to tell me I should be driving a 4x4, but off-roading is not my goal. There are countless miles of dirt roads through the public lands of the west which are perfectly accessible to a basic car with AWD and decent ground clearance. Here are some of my favorite places my lightly modified Subaru has taken me. 4x4 not necessary.
