The Story of Tyrrell's Stevens Vineyard

Описание к видео The Story of Tyrrell's Stevens Vineyard

Bruce Tyrrell and Andrew Pengilly discuss the Stevens vineyard and what characteristics this piece of land brings to the wine that is produced from it.

Neil Stevens owns two iconic Hunter Vineyards on Marrowbone Road in Pokolbin. These hillside vineyards, called “Glenoak” and “Old Hillside”, feature rich and unusually coloured purple ochre clay loams. The vines, some of which were planted in 1867, are the oldest still producing vines in the Hunter, yet still yield a crop of incredibly rich fruit. In 1993, Bruce Tyrrell struck a deal with the Stevens family. The backbone of the deal was the friendship and history between the two Hunter families. It was, and is still today, a deal that is sealed by a handshake.

The fruit from this vineyard produces two of our Single Vineyard wines - the Stevens Semillon and the Stevens Shiraz.
