Chuk Peña Music presents "Seven Bridges Road" by Chuk Peña. Originally written and recorded in 1969 by Steve Young, and covered by many artists like the Eagles and Dolly Parton, the song is not about a namesake road, but rather Steve Young's journey--both physical and metaphorical--down a country road south of Montgomery, Alabama.

While the lyrics paint images and feelings indicative of a southern, rural, bridge-studded road, and the surrounding countryside, Chuk wanted to showcase his love of bridges, instead of using the literal images of the song. Enjoy some of his favorites, like the more modern suspension bridges with their creative architectural style, as well as many other styles of scenic bridges, past and present, from around the world .

During the initial recording stages, the idea was to follow the 1980 Eagles' version, but as the work progressed, the lack of the Chuk Peña feel became apparent, and he went back to the drawing board, changed up the tempo a little, added his beloved Gibson "J45 Hummingbird" guitar and a Fender Dobro, keeping it simple.
