Fueled by American Family’s commitment to dreamers, the Small Business Spotlight series is highlighting business owners across Wisconsin — honoring the dreamers who went above and beyond for their community last year. Last spring, Greg León, the owner and chef of Amilinda in Milwaukee, and his good friend Reverend Karen Hagen, teamed up to launch “Hungry Hearts,” a community-based initiative to provide nutritious meals to those in need while supporting small businesses. Every Saturday, different local restaurants provide 100 complimentary meals to the community and are granted $1,000 for their contribution. To date, this program has donated over 16,000 meals and raised over $192,000.
