IPV is a maneuver to deliver the fetus by inserting a hand into the uterine cavity, grasping one or both feet and drawing them through the cervix. Delivery of second non-vertex twin in multiple pregnancy. When the fetal heart rate is normal and membranes are intact, we go for ECV, but either FHR is abnormal or membranes are absent the IPV is maneuver. The prerequisites of IPV include Adequate Analgesia, Continuous FHR monitoring, Abdominal Examination and Internal Examination to confirm lie and position of fetal parts, Aseptic Technique, Immediate Access to Operation Theater. Ensure presence of pediatrician and empty the bladder before performing IPV procedure.
