Lula Washington Dance Theatre performs "Reign" by choreographer Renee Harris. "Reign" was previously described by the LA Times as a "group work of hip-hop genius" and includes house and other dance styles.

Hip-hop is a cultural and artistic movement pioneered by African-American and Latino Youth in New York City in the 1970s. Hip-hop dance is a collection of social dances of the 70s to the 90s, and contains many different components, such as break-dance, popping and locking. House music, dating back to the 70s and 80s, has roots in the clubs of Chicago and New York.
