Benesse House Museum is like no place in the world, uniquely combining a museum with a striking hotel that is more of an art space itself. Situated on Naoshima Island, also known as the "Art Island," Benesse embodies the concept of “harmony among nature, art, and architecture.” Designed by famed architect Tadao Ando, the structure is perched dramatically on high ground overlooking the tranquil Seto Inland Sea with expansive apertures that invite the surrounding natural beauty into its interior.

The Benesse art facilities consists of four buildings including the Museum, Oval, Park and Beach,. Each building features its own unique artworks and guest rooms. Alongside its collection of paintings, sculptures, photographs, and installations, the Museum showcases permanent site-specific works created by artists specifically for the building. These artists have carefully selected spaces within the museum, designing pieces that resonate with their chosen locations. Artworks aren’t confined to the galleries, but appear throughout the building, along the seashore adjacent to the complex, and within the nearby forest.
