Описание к видео Signed French Empire Period Mahogany Salon Furniture, Early 19th century Antiques by François Loret!

François Loret is a renowned master furniture maker who operated in Paris from 1811-1830. Although not one of the grandest names of the time, he comes to mind for fine Napoleonic and Restauration period seating. His work is known to be emblematic of the period, and many chairs made by him are conserved in the French Ministry of Culture's Mobilier National (a national historic furniture reserve). This set of two armchairs, or two bergères, and a three seat canapé, is exemplary of his high quality furniture production (back when furniture was decorative art).

In addition to being quintessential examples of Loret’s work, these mahogany pieces also serve as wonderful examples of fine domestic furniture circa 1815. This video preserves a trace of them online and offers a brief discussion, while sharing the hidden parts of the pieces with other enthusiasts. I hope this may help inform some of your collecting, and thank you for watching!
