The 2025 Polestar 3 large SUV was a long time coming for the fledgling Swedish-Chinese electric vehicle (EV) specialist, which boldly plays in the premium segment that's occupied by the BMW iX and Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV, among others, in this instance.

Closely related to the Volvo EX90, the five-seat Polestar 3 looks to stand out from the crowd with its Scandinavian design bringing with it what may be called extreme minimalism, especially inside where physical controls and few and far between.

In this expert review, CarsGuide Contributing Journalist Emily Agar and her family of three spend a week living with the Polestar 3's flagship, the Long Range Dual Motor with the optional Performance Pack fitted. It ups the all-wheel-drive ante to a punchy 380kW of power and 910Nm of torque, while its 107kWh battery pack delivers up to a lengthy 567km of WLTP-rated driving range.
