Touhou 7 Youyoumu ~ Perfect Cherry Blossom - Playing With Death ~ Border Of Life (SNES Remix)

Ah, Yuyuko Saigyouji. One of my favorite Touhou characters. She's just a goofy ahh ghost fatty with a sick-ass design and a super tragic backstory (the Yuyuko lore is insane). I'm not really a fan of her original theme, Border of Life, so I ended up doing the version that ended up appearing in Kirby's Return To Dreamland (which for some reason was given a new name, "Fly, Kirby!"). It's easily my favorite version of Border of Life. It's upbeat, intense, dramatic, and it also plays in the Touhou throw-back stage, Another Dimension.

It's insane that Yuyuko's theme got referenced in one of the best Kirby games (which was so good that it got a remake in the year 2023: Year of the Remakes), but then again, Kirby is canonically Yuyuko's son, and Youmu Konpaku was Meta Knight's student at one point, alongside Vergil & Raiden. Vergil failed to pay attention in Meta Knight's classes because he'd go on about obtaining the power of Sparda, but Raiden was the teacher's pet because he'd pass all of Meta Knight's lessons with flying colors (he wanted to learn how to control his power).

Jokes aside, I love Kirby's Return to Dreamland. It's my favorite modern Kirby game and one of my favorite games in the series. Awesome gameplay, fantastic music, and the best 4 player co-op in any platformer period. It doesn't need to sacrifice level design just for multiplayer (glares at Star Allies, NSMBW, and SM3DW) but that's probs 'cuz Kirby's gameplay loop works perfectly for that compared to Mario. My friends and I used to have a blast playing this back in the day, though Meta Knight had no right being a fusion of the sword and wing powerups. It made him too good. God, saying this makes me feel so old.
