I just love the idea that Jon has always thought of Garfield as his pet similar to how the real life owners of say air bud see there dog. Sure he got famous and they didn't but at the end of the day he's just a dog.
but then he like unknowingly slights Garfield in some way and Garfield's like no you don't understand, I'm famous you are nothing I run this fucking city
The idea of not only being completely overshadowed by your own pet but that they see themselves as better then anyone else and have only been humoring you because you knew them before they were famous but then they have to drop that pretense and are like no, jon you don't understand you actually mean nothing to me. Like, I'm the one anybody cares about I'm on all the merchandise I have all the industry connections you need to shut up and get me my goddamn lasagna. If I say jump, you say how high Garfield, because If I wanted you gone nobody would hear from you again, and they likely wouldn't even realize you were ever here to begin with
then jon seeing what Garfield has become tries to kill him but he has 9 lives
just the juxtaposing toxic celeberty culture with garfield and dumb cat jokes is really good
