There are several surgical options for repairing the Diastasis recti. The most common surgical procedure is called tummy tuck or also known as abdominoplasty. During a tummy tuck, the surgeon makes an incision in the lower abdomen, separates the skin off the muscle all the way to the rib cage, repairs the Diastasis, reconstructs a new bellybutton and at the end removes the excess skin. This procedure often combines with liposuction to give the patient best aesthetic results.
Another surgical option is called mini tummy tuck or mini abdominoplasty.
