Inner ear barotrauma advice

My husband is a DAN member dove yesterday and had no issues during his dive until he reached an ascending depth of 15 ft. He was unable to evacuate the air from his dry suit and came up too quickly. Everything felt normal until he came home which is approximately 30 minutes from exiting the water and coming home. He has developed vertigo. He had no medical issues prior to the dive. He lay down most of yesterday. He was nauseous, very dizzy, and vomited bile last night. This morning the external part of his left ear was sore. His dizziness and nausea subsided.

This was a shore dive and he is an experienced diver with 400 dives.

Could you please advise on what could be done to deal with his condition?

A key element of the DAN Mission is educating the diving public and the medical profession on the appropriate care for divers injured in dive accidents. This education takes on many forms, disseminating information on topics related to dive safety through articles, reports, seminars, lectures and training programs.
