W2TV Vault: Sook-Yin Lee - Asia Pacific Festival 1987

Recorded at the 1987 Asia Pacific Festival. Segment from a Chinatown Today community television special Chnese Canadian Musicans which included Alexina Louie, Su-Chong Lim and Shannon Gunn. Shelly Cheung, Hopman Seto and I co-producers with Deborah Angrave executive producer.

Volunteer produced, we could do this because there were four fully staffed community television offices and a studio in Vancouver alone. It is shameful the govenment has allowed cable companies to dismantle the thousands strong community television volunteer networks and the physical infrastructure of staffed neighbourhood offices and studios in Metro Vancouver.

I was watching the CBC greatest Canadian show and recall Sook-Yin Lee advocating for head tax familes for a moment. They say those (North) Vancouver gals are the most courageous, smartest and most beautiful!
