OndDay 3 of our Addo safari, we spend most of the time around waterholes, watching large numbers of African Elephants gather to drink, bathe, and interact. Addo is known for its high elephant density, and days like this show exactly why it’s considered one of the best places in South Africa to see elephants up close.

Along the way, we also spot buffalo, zebra, kudu, mongooses, and a black-backed jackal, offering a great overview of the diverse wildlife found in this malaria-free national park. From peaceful grazing scenes to tense moments at the water, the day perfectly reflects what a self-drive safari in Addo Elephant National Park can be like.
