Aurora Free Library - GRAND OPENING "Handpuppets of Famous Artists" (with Lili MacCormick)

For many years, Aurora educator Lili MacCormick used her hand puppets as unique teaching tools for her art students at Emily Howland Elementary School. Via the hand puppets, students would get the opportunity to "chat" with artists like Leonardo da Vinci, Frida Kahlo, or Marc Chagall, and become familiar with their roles in art history. As Lili describes it, her students "loved talking to the 'real artist' about their life and work."
Join us for her talk, refreshments and to check out her book, Handpuppets of Famous Artists.
The 43 handpuppets will be on display for the next few months at the library and can be viewed during library hours.
