Overwatch director Aaron Keller published a lengthy Director’s Take blog in response to community outcry for the return of 6v6 in Overwatch 2.

In the post, Keller said that the design team isn’t ruling out the possibility of trying limited-time 6v6 modes to see how they might even work. Whether these happen in Hacked events remains to be seen.

Keller ended off the post saying that the design team wants to reassess how Blizzard solved the original Overwatch’s problems and experiment with other team compositions and gameplay styles that restore some of the freedom of play that people used to have.
