UPDATE 2025
After many years of being off the market the AquaHelix is now back for sale from the original manufacturer! Buy it here, if this product is something that interests you:

=====================================================================
This showerhead, to my knowledge, possesses the lowest flow rate of any showerhead ever manufactured and brought to market.

The Aqua Helix seems to have been brought to market sometime in 2009, manufactured by Jet Blast Inc, of Maryland, a company which specializes in Hydro Jetting related solutions. This product in particular was sold by a salesman with the company named Steve. Who is also likely the co-inventor of the design.

The design of the Aqua Helix is truly unique and unlike anything else.
It works by using a flaccid silicone tube, when water is sent through the tube it begins flailing erratically.
This effect is controlled by the conical shape of the showerhead housing: This housing serves to guide the silicone tube along the wall of the housing, spinning it in a circle at speeds up to 1500 RPM!

This results in the showerhead projecting a very wide cone of water with a stinging high pressure. The black sleeve of the Aqua Helix can be pulled forward to direct this wide spray into a more focused, softer beam of water.
This showerhead despite its insanely low output is deceptively pleasant to shower with in reality. Despite it's low output; it's high pressure makes up for it by blasting grease and soap away with ease.

Depending on the PSI of your water pressure:
This showerhead outputs anywhere between 0.40 Gallons per Minute to 0.5 Gallons per Minute. Usually averaging 0.47 GPM in my experience with my pressure (I believe somewhere around 60 PSI.)

That is a ludicrously low flow rate.
Yet despite that, this is the single strongest showerhead I have ever used in my entire life. It feels even potentially hazardous to leave your eyes open in it's stream.

The reason for this I believe is based on the patent for the product filed in 1996. Which appears to describe some sort of implement or attachment which would go onto the end of hose hooked up to a Hydro Jetting Machine. Which makes sense given the company.

Using educated conjecture this design was probably originally intended as an implement which would be shoved down pipes to clear them. Ever seen those POV Drain Cleaning videos? This design is something that would go on the end of their hoses.
Presumptively the creators realized how little water this design could potentially use and seeing the growing market for low flow eco-friendly showerheads, decided to turn it into one.

Which I think is pretty cool. This is definitely the most interesting showerhead ever built.

The patent for this showerhead is US Patent #5,533,673.
My channel does not have permission from youtube to provide links, so you can look up this number on google patents or any website to see it.
If you want to see the original website it was sold at, go to "aquahelix.net" on the Wayback Machine for archives.
