Two EPIC Rainouts | Goose Hunting fresh snow on the Front Range of Colorado!

Fresh snow hit the front range of Colorado again making for the perfect goose hunting conditions. I headed down from the mountains for a quick morning hunt and we made quick work of the birds at what we call the dirt hole pit. We crushed out a four-man limit of honkers in about 45 min and we got most of our limit out of two groups due to great shooting and epic rainouts!

With a 5 mph wind and a lot of lessers in the area, we knew this was going to be a fun hunt. We set the spread with little pockets for the lessers to land and all the lessers came straight down around the pit blind. We got a couple of giants to break off bigger groups and come in as singles as well.

This hunt was two days after a snow storm. We had to get out while the snow was fresh and while the geese were out of their pattern. Goose Hunting 2023 is in full swing here on the front range of Colorado! This was the second major snowstorm of the year and it came just in time to keep the ground covered in the magical white stuff.
