Dan Del Fiorentino is the Music Historian for NAMM who heads the industry's Oral History program. Dan began this special project in March 2000, after having served as the first curator of the NAMM Foundation’s Museum of Making Music. Since that time, the collection of video interviews has grown to cover nearly every segment of the music products industry. Dan has always enjoyed collecting history and conducted his first interviews for his radio station program in the San Francisco Bay Area beginning when he was 15 years old. In October 2022, Dan captured the collection's 5,000th interview and continues to focus on addressing the hundreds of suggested people on his ever-growing wish list.
Dan's wife Suzanne is a NAMM Volunteer and has assisted in more than 1000 of the oral history interviews.

Suzanne Del Fiorentino is Dan's wife and NAMM's volunteer videographer. She mainly travels with him on the road, running the camera and helping with lighting and schlepping all the gear. Suzanne was born in San Francisco and lived in the Bay Area until graduating from "first college" after attending San Fransisco State University as a Zoology major. She then moved down to the San Diego area and worked a variety of jobs in the Biotech industry before deciding to pursue a career in nursing. She ultimately earned her Master's degree in Adult Psychiatric Nursing at Point Loma Nazarene University. She spent her nursing career as a psychiatric nurse with the VA. After retiring she learned how to run the camera and starting working with Dan in 2016. She recently completed her 1000th interview and when Dan retires, she will retire (again!).
