Hi everyone, it’s Annette from Almocado.

I know I’ve been MIA for a while but we’ve just been busy holding down the fort behind the scenes and trying to make sure we survive all these COVID-19 business restrictions and lockdowns...

What I wanted to do today was come on and have a little talk with you, because I think that with the seemingly never ending lockdowns here in the UK some people may have forgotten...

I am a mother.
There is a human being behind Almocado.
In fact there are several of them. Living Human beings: young women, writing your posts, answering your emails and phone calls, standing for hours over kettles and vats mixing your products, dispensing them
Into bottles and jars; peeling and sticking labels; gift wrapping and packing orders.

People. Not robots.

And guys, I’m sorry. As humans we sometimes make mistakes. You get 1 instead of 2 conditioners or your spritz is missing. We don’t do it to wind you up. We don’t do it because we don’t care. But the truth is when we’re handling over 500 orders a week in between the school runs sometimes accidents happen... and we’re always happy to put it right - but what we’re not happy with , is the abuse.

Message: We’re not here for the abuse.

I AM NOT here for the abuse.

Listen, I get it. It’s hard being on lockdown.
It’s disappointing when your orders take longer to arrive than anticipated and it’s frustrating when something is missing BUT... and we hear this so many times and it’s important so I’m saying it again... “be kind” because I am NOT here for your abuse.

In this age of automation and AI, people demand instant gratification. Please be reminded that we are a small business, not Amazon.

We are human, and we will not tolerate abuse.

I am a mother. Yes, I am also a businesswoman. But the reason I left one highly stressful career path in favour of this one was not just to follow my passion but because I wanted a better work life balance for me and my family...

I give of myself daily, handwritten notes in your orders, well thought out product recommendations and authentic scalp evaluations - I give you everything good and passionate in me - willingly and lovingly... and will continue to do so but I’m not here for the drama please

Please be reasonable.
Please be respectful.

And, to the Almocado tribe, who continue to support and return the love I give- I say thank you. You orders are on their way. 😘
