Sikicho's Long Day - (TV Version) - Educational video for kids about intestinal worms in Kenya!

Описание к видео Sikicho's Long Day - (TV Version) - Educational video for kids about intestinal worms in Kenya!

Introducing Sikicho, "a future award-winning, Kenyan microbiologist!" She has invented some cool microscopic-vision glasses that can see germs! Sikicho is on a journey to visit her grandma. On the way, she encounters the life cycle of two very real worms. Sikicho is truly fascinated and narrates how each worm travels through our environment to make us sick!

Schistosomiasis and Soil-Transmitted Helminths are two of the Neglected Tropical Diseases that Project HAND UP has been tasked with creating edutainment packages around. Each intestinal worm is endemic to several counties in Kenya.

This video, along with two half-hour videos designed for in-school use, is playing now on Akili Kids! tv network and will reach upward of 10 million or more people per week on the channel here in Kenya.

It's quite a departure from our past style. With each new project, we push ourselves to create original and novel ways to engage audiences on disease prevention topics. Our goal: make health education that kids want to watch again and again!

A project of Kenya's Ministry of Health, AMREF Health Africa and END FUND.
