New, better quality audio for this clip. Nicolai Gedda sings “Monotonously Rings the Little Bell” with Zlatopolsky in the bass section during a performance in Moscow under Lija Mogilevskaja in 1980. At the end we can hear Zlatopolsky descend to a C#1, along with another oktavist. I created this clip using high quality audio from the LP recording and the video from the actual televised performance. I’ve also spliced in a second of the clip from another angle so we can see Zlatopolsky in the bass section.
