Summary :-
Sarah has been married to Adam for years and they have a son, Noah. Adam comes from a well-off family and is very close to his much younger sister Melissa, who was spoiled growing up. Sarah meets Melissa when she's a child. As Melissa gets older, she becomes more entitled and materialistic.

A few years ago, Melissa starts asking Adam for money to support her lavish lifestyle after dropping out of college, despite their parents cutting her off financially to teach her a lesson. Wanting to help, Adam and Sarah secretly pay Melissa's expenses behind their family's back for years as Melissa pretends to have jobs and flaunts luxuries bought with their money.

On Christmas, Adam makes Melissa a thoughtful homemade photo card, but she angrily rejects it, wanting expensive gifts like the rest of the family. Sarah suggests they stop supporting Melissa financially to teach her to be grateful. Adam refuses at first, but eventually agrees.

When Melissa's parents also stop paying for her, she lashes out at Sarah and Adam. Sarah reveals the truth about who was really funding Melissa's lifestyle. The

parents are shocked and disappointed in Melissa's behavior. Melissa continues to act entitled and insult Sarah, further straining the family relationships.

At a party, a drunken Melissa publicly accuses Sarah and Adam of being selfish for not helping her financially. Adam finally reaches his limit and kicks Melissa out, cutting contact. The parents also refuse to support Melissa anymore, though Adam's mother Bertha is still bitter towards Sarah.
