A key player in the PTL saga and the lives of Jim and Tammy Faye Bakker was Vestal Goodman. The famed gospel singer lived in Tega Cay near Jim and Tammy in a PTL owned home. In these clips from January 1987, Vestal lifts Tammy in prayer and shares her thoughts about Tammy. Co hosting is Tammy Sue Bakker. This is prior to the announcement that Tammy Faye was in the Betty Ford Center program.
In our Jim and Tammy return to Tega Cay video there is a woman visible with silver hair behind Jim. She is Millie Freeman, Vestal Goodman's sister who worked for Tammy Faye Cosmetics on Main Street at Heritage USA.
After Falwell officially fired Jim and Tammy, Vestal attended a taping of the PTL Club. When Falwell attempted to speak Vestal stood in the audience and yelled "If you give money to this man you are giving to a thief."
A short time later Falwell moved to have Vestal and her family evicted from their PTL owned home at Tega Cay. Needless to say Vestal did not leave quietly or quickly.
