Not surprisingly, designing an audio system for an acoustic environment that consists of multiple glass planes, forced asymmetrical listener positioning, and unavoidably close proximity to a combustion engine can be a bit of a headache. Those were but a few of the challenges new to Fender's Chuck Adams when he took on the spearheading of the new Fender Premium Audio System car stereo.

Luckily for Chuck he had Panasonic's Natan Budiono and that company's 40-plus years of car audio experience to bounce his ideas off of. We spoke to the engineers at the recent Chicago Auto Show where we learned about the Fender Premium Audio system's most unique components, and how they served to overcome the biggest obstacles to a pleasurable car listening experience.
