In this episode of his "Thinking Out Loud" series, Double examines the recent string of fire-bombings and vandalism coming out of the militant feminist group known as "Jane's Revenge."
Double D opens the video by examining the rise of Christian Dominionism in the US, as a conservative majority in the SCOTUS poises itself to overturn the long standing ruling of Roe V. Wade.
Jumping in to an article from "The Washington Times" Double D relays news of Jane's Revenge firebombing the "Family Action Clinic" in Madison, Wisconsin, before reading the "First Communique" issued by "Jane's Revenge." He claims that political violence will only continue to escalate in the United States, as an economically desperate and politically disenfranchised population continues to lose faith that their government will act on any of the systemic issues facing working people.
Double D goes on to examine the narratives expected to come from conservatives and MSM surrounding the string of pro-choice attacks. Noting that officials and theocrats will spin such actions as being one-sided, while forced-birth advocates have been perpetuating violence against women and reproductive health doctors for decades. He notes also that the average suburban liberal, who may ostensibly agree with political issues, will view the retaliatory violence as being out of left field, as they are unable to conceptualize the level of economic violence facing average working people.
Moving on to the fire-bombing of a "Compass Care Clinic" in Buffalo, New York; Double D dissects the ways in which Christian Dominionists masquerade as women's health clinics in order to push their theocratic agenda; offering some women's health services while lobbying legislatures to ban abortion and using their vast resources to inundate women with anti-abortion propaganda. He examines some of the ways in which faux-clinics like Compass Care push their agenda, namely pursuing a policy of getting state-ran women clinics shut down, so clinics like Compass Care can fill the healthcare void. He shows how Compass Care acquired three new facilities, and according to their website, went from "reaching 1 in 100 women considering abortion, to now reaching 1 in 3."
Double D then delivers the second communique coming out of Jane's Revenge after the fire-bombing in New York state, which calls on women to engage in a "Night of Rage", upon the imminent overturning of Roe V. Wade.
Recalling the Irish Republican Army's policy of "The Ballot and the Bullet", Double D examines the strategy of Sinn Fein, who while not outright endorsing the guerilla campaign of the IRA, were hesitant to condemn the political violence of those who shared the same political objective. He points out that in the end, sympathetic pacifists will have a choice: to either avoid condemnation of political violence, or to side with the oppressor's by condemning the actions of those who felt they were left with no other recourse.
