Описание к видео I've Come Too Far to Look Back – Former LeFevre Members Reunited

I’ve Come Too Far to Look Back
Former LeFevre Members
From the album Reunited – Timeless (2014)

“I’ve Come Too Far to Look Back” is one of the most beloved and frequently requested songs in The LeFevres’ long and storied history. A song of perseverance and faith, it has encouraged countless listeners through its powerful message of staying the course and trusting God’s leading.

⭐ Special Notes About This Song

“I’ve Come Too Far to Look Back” was originally recorded on The New Sounds of The LeFevres, released in 1972. On that original recording, Ron Dailey sang baritone. The song became such a favorite that Porter Wagoner invited The LeFevres to perform it on his nationally televised show—a memorable appearance that featured both Barbara (Hodge) Roach and Ron Dailey.

When ReUnited first began singing this song in 2012, the group was amazed at how closely Mark Fuller resembled Rex Nelon vocally, and how Joshua Phillips echoed the sound and spirit of Uncle Alf LeFevre. While no one could ever truly replicate those two uniquely gifted voices, the resemblance carried deep emotional meaning.

That meaning was powerfully affirmed when Maurice LeFevre, upon first hearing this recording at Ellender LeFevre’s 95th birthday celebration, exclaimed, “I hear mama!”
That moment remains one of the most meaningful compliments the group has ever received.

🌟 Special Acknowledgment

With the passing of her husband Rex Nelon, Judy Nelon became the owner of LeFevre-Sing Publishing. Judy graciously allowed this song to be recorded for the Reunited – Timeless project and simply asked for a copy of the completed album.

Her generosity, stewardship, and lifelong dedication to preserving the LeFevre and Nelon musical legacy have made an immeasurable impact on Southern Gospel music. Her contributions to keeping this heritage alive cannot go unnoticed, and the group is deeply grateful for her kindness and support.
