Gujarat steals projects from other states?🎖

🏭 India recently approved 3 new semiconductor units that increased the number of total units to 4. These 4 plants will see an investment of ₹1.48 lakh crores. And 82% of this investment is going to Gujarat alone. Gujarat will have 3 out of 4 semiconductor units of India, including India’s first commercial semiconductor fab.

💡 How did Gujarat manage to do that?
1️⃣ Gujarat became the first Indian state to launch its dedicated semiconductor policy in 2022.
2️⃣ The Gujarat Government will also give an additional 40% subsidy on the top of Central Government’s 50% subsidy on the working capital.
3️⃣ The Gujarat Government is giving upto 70% subsidy on the price first 200 acres of land and 50% on additional land. The government will allot land within weeks.
4️⃣ The Government is also giving water, the most important requirement of a semiconductor unit at ₹12 per cubic meter.
5️⃣ The semiconductor units will get ₹2 per unit subsidy on power and no electricity dues.
6️⃣ Gujarat is also clearly all required permissions through a single window system.

🤝 More units will come to Gujarat:
As per reports, the Government of India has 3 - 4 more proposals of semiconductor units pending approval, including the $11 billion Tower Semiconductor fab. This fab is also expected to select Gujarat for its location. Kaynes Technology is also shifting its fab from Telangana to Gujarat. Maybe, a few decades down the line, Gujarat will become the hi-tech manufacturing capital of India.
