This video will show the process of the application of Western Colloids SM-2P-XE roof system The specifications from the manufacture, followed completely, will provide a manufactures 10 year material and labor renewable warranty.

This manufacture offers renewable warranties options from 10 to 20 years.

The existing roof application had failed. You are looking at the existing roof as we started the process.

Step one is cleaning the roof to remove dirt and debris including any old material that is not firmly attached to the membrane.

The cleaning process will reveal all the problems on the roof. These areas must be repaired prior to the application of the system. A floating patch installed to the membrane or a liquid applied asphalt patch will inlaid polyester fabric are common repairs. Here is an example of the liquid applied patch.

The 10 Year Warrantied application requirements are 6 gallon per roofing square of asphalt emulation with polyester membrane impeded in the asphalt followed by 6 more gallons of asphalt and another layer of polyester fabric.

The next application is Western Colloid ElastaHyde coating (this is a white acrylic elastomeric reflective coating) applied to the polyester fabric at 1.5 gallons per square. The final application is another 1.5 gallons (per square) of ElastaHyde applied on top of the base.

This completes the process.
However: if ponding water is present (as present on this roof) an additional application of polyester fabric and ElastaHyde is required over the entire ponding area to complete the warranty requirements.

Every wall base and penetration (for example: HVAC curbs and or pipes through the roof) is treated with Western Colloids #800 white elastic flashing and sealing compound. Acrylic latex remains
permanently elastic. The wall treatment is what you are seeing here.

Finally the finished Roof.

What your seeing now is the completed roof. This video was taken a few weeks after the application.Air born dust and the Portland cement, used by the business inside, contribute to the dirty appearance of our finished product.
