Balance systems and quick reference about testing. Balance is needed in order not too fall, it impacts your functionality, and ability to function in the world. Balance is an important think that impacts the way you function, this is important from walking to standing and knowing where things are in the world. Vision is primarly used for balance, and having body awareness will allow the body to maintain balance. In this video we will go over what accounts for your balance, and the vestibular system. What accounts for your vision? What vision tests can we do?

Proprioception- where am I in space? where is my hand? Caused by brain injuries and is overall your body awareness. We can do scans to see how well you react to the different parts that we don't think abot doing day-to-day activites. In this video we demonstrate different tests we can do to determine how well our proprioception is.

Vestibular- Motion, athletics, dropping the head and knowing where we are. Motion sickness in the car is a perfect example of this, which then leads to nausea. Our muscles feel pain and sickness. Testing this is with a canal isolation or a foam balance test. In this video we show you how these tests can be done.

Vision- Most relied upon sense for balance. Our eye alignment with how they work together and move together. The tests and demostrated in this video and allow you to test your vision. With these tests you can see how unstable you are, and if you lack vision keep working on it.

Concussion can impact our balance, as well as the amount of energy we have. Vision and cordination together allow the function of our bodies moving well. What factors help balance recovery from a concussion? In this video we will go over some at home balance help (static and dynamic balance.)
